Mundane Existance

There is currently a ton of drama occurring in the CS department, I am not very happy about it either, so I’ll probably post my opinions on it shortly. I am putting up ansite for my Buis/tech writing class as well.

Smoke and Mirrors

I have just resurrected CULT (a magazine Bill, Chiz, and I did in high school). I haven’t really reanimated the magazine, but just made a [CULT page] with lots of series we took for the magazine, but never got published. I have also finished a third action: [DateAlert.sit] Which throws up a dialog telling the user what date it is, and if the date matches one of 8 user defined dates a corresponding message is appended.

O-spection

I have been writing Plug-in Actions For GoLive I have written a set of 4 for web page redirection, and 1 to bring up a definable Information dialogue. I am making them available in .sit format: [Redirection set], [Info Dialogue]. There are a lot of new pics up in the friends section + pics of one of my high-school surfing excursions . Classes start on Tuesday, so I have to get on schedule for school. Hopefully I’ll have a bit of time to get the game’s core logic working over the summer. There should be some more updates soon, but they might be a little erratic because i’m due to start moving into a new pad after the 9th.

Mediation through Segregation

Well, Here’s the finger for all the Internet Explorer users out there. Since I slaved away making a menu, then found through Wade that it didn’t look quite right, I wanted to set up a Java Script redirector. I try to use Golive Actions, rather than hard-coding the script in, since if you use a script through an action Golive will automatically update the links. The only freeware action I could find was old, and the 5.0 browser support just sent the browser to the corresponding 4.0 link, and would not work within a frameset. So I wrote my own action using the older simpler one as a basis, so for anyone who uses Adobe GoLive [here] it is. And too bad explorer users, you’ll just have to wait till I’m done with a major menu overhaul I’m slowly working on. I also put the old (no mouse-overs) navbar up for 3.0 browser users. This action developing thing seems to be a pretty cool thing so that will probably occupy a lot of my time in the near future.

In Spite of Dawn

I have figured out a scheme for pop up HTML based menus, they should look fine in 4.x browsers, but I haven’t tested them with Explorer; please let me know if it is doing anything wacky. Hopefully I’ll have enough time to make my Myth II mesh into a plug-in so I can put it up on this site. There will soon be a books page, and I’ll be updating the links section and the music page.

A Lapse of Routine

I have replaced the photo busts of myself withe new smiley faces to express the mood of the news item. The Navigational bar is revamped (though it looks almost the same), and a bunch of broken links were fixed. Since I am starting to run out of space on this server, I am beginning to shift files around to new servers, and in the process it is easy for me to break links. I ask everyone to please mail me if you find dead links anywhere. I am currently on spring break, working on some plot for a story setting, and working on a multiplayer plug-in for MythII. Tonya put up a [website] yesterday for people in the jewelry education field (particularly techs) though there is not much there yet.

Drifting Conciousness

I worked all last night on a [paper], and it is only the beginning of my schedule for the coming weeks. I am helping Tonya with some pages she is starting, so links to those should be up at some point. I also think I will ask and see if I can put up my code from my classes (my school has this weird “no looking at other people’s code” policy). I’m also putting up my [resume] in pdf format. When my history paper is finished I’ll put it up, but it’s pretty dry material.

16th Update

I finally got my act together and put up a [message board] which, of course, has no content as of yet. So get writing. I won some kind of Poetry award, but it seems more like a scavenger hunt as I jump through hoops in order to get some sort of prize which the entire English department seems secretive about, but if it’s cool I’ll post a picture or something, otherwise I’ll probably just pretend it never happened. Maybe I should come up with some new header convention (it’s not as if the updates will skip from #15 to # 23 or anything), Maybe next time I’ll come up with a snappy title. I’m also going to put up a piece by [Chiz] on [urinal etiquette] in the near future.

15th Update

I’ve added a bunch of family pages, but I don’t have good pictures of all of my relatives. Don’t feel like I’m showing any favoritism, if you’re not on the page, it’s because I don’t have any pics of you (so get an envelope and send me some). I have been bedridden the past couple o’ days (I didn’t even check my e-mail), now I have to play catch-up in my classes (fun). Isn’t it great how bad things are like dominoes: you get screwed and life just keeps on giving. I think I might get a bulletin board soon, or a guestbook or both, I’m going to try to get one w/o a banner, but even if I do, I think I’m going to add one sooner or later, it’s easy cash for a poor student. There also some new pics of me if u dig, and some specs on my computer, although I plan on eventually adding specs for all my electronics.

14th Update

Spring break has hit and… Wham!, here comes another update. I am experimenting with adding the abbey heads to the site. Normally the head would be representative of the news item, and since this item is pretty dull i guess it’s working : ) . The people page has been split up into sections, and some family pages should be on the way. I am going to also work on other stuff during break, so hopefully there will be some cool changes here, but maybe just some not-so-cool ones.
